Telehealth Tips
A few simple things to help you feel comfortable and ready before we meet.
Joining Your Session
- Sessions are via SimplePractice — check your reminder email for the link
- On a computer, just click the link — no download needed. Use Chrome or Edge for best results
- On a phone or tablet, download the free Telehealth by SimplePractice app first
- Join 5 minutes early and allow camera & microphone access when prompted
Your Space
- Find a private spot with a door you can close
- Sit facing a window or lamp — not with light behind you
- Position your camera at roughly eye level
- Earbuds or headphones help with both privacy and sound quality
Before You Start
- Give yourself 10–15 minutes to decompress before joining
- Have water, tissues, and a charged phone nearby
- A blanket, journal, or pet are always welcome
- Silence notifications so nothing pulls your attention
Tech Tips
- A strong wifi connection helps — sit close to your router if you can
- Close other apps and browser tabs before joining
- If video freezes, refresh the page — the session link stays active
- Earbuds reduce echo and make audio much cleaner for both of us
If We Get Disconnected
- Refresh the page and use the same link to rejoin
- If that doesn't work, text or call me — we'll continue by phone or reschedule
- Please share your current location at the start of each session in case of emergency
Crisis Resources — Always Available
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988
- Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741
- Emergency — 911
